Educational Opportunities

There is a place for everyone to know about Christ here at First UMC. Take some time to try us out in person and know how much God loves you.

  • Adult Sunday School - 10:00 am each Sunday

    At10:00 am, we head out to our individual classes. Most adult classes are held on the first floor of the Mac (elevators are available next to the information booth)

    Adult Sunday School classes

    • Searchers Class

      Adults who want to go deeper in the Word. Led by Rod Johnson. Room M-9

    • Bobbie's Class

      Women's class for all women to come and learn the scriptures which we pray will bring you 'new life' in your days ahead. Room M-11

    • Friendship Class

      Class for middle-aged adults (late 50's to ?). Teachers rotate teaching from books by different authors. We have a very socially active class with a casual atmosphere. Room M-3 and M-5.

    • Fidelis Class

      Class for Senior adults with four teachers rotating throughout the year. We are a friendly class with open discussions. Room M-1.

    • Joy Class

      Average age 30's-50's. Our class is led by Kathy Johnson. We are a fun group that loves leaving the kids upstairs and taking the time to grow our own understanding of what it means to be a Christian adult today. Room M-7

    • Bridges Class

      The newest Adult Class, led by Charles and Nancy Smith, meets in the Conference Room across the hall from the church offices.
  • Bible Studies for Adults
    • Pastor Ben leads a Bible Study for Adults every Wednesday night at 6:00 pm in the Sanctuary NOTE: Adult Bible Study is on hiatus for the summer. There are also other Bible Studies throughout the year at different times of the week. Check your bulletin or call the church office for details on those.
  • Youth B.A.S.I.C.S.Sunday School classes for children
    • Youth Bible Study meets in the bottom floor of the MAC on Sunday mornings.
  • Children's Classes
    • Children's Sunday School meets in the older wing of the building - towards the old Fellowship Hall and downstairs. We also have a preschool, the CEC, that meets in MWF in the mornings.
  • OASIS
    • Educational classes on weekdays for older adults
