Children's Ministry

Kids are important at First UMC

Children need a friendly and secure place to come to know about God and to develop lasting friendships. That is what we provide here at First United Methodist of Union County. Be sure to meet Richard Rivera, our Pastor to Young Families. He can help get you acclimated and answer any questions you might have.

We have Sunday School and Wednesday Nite Live! every week and many other activities throughout the year.

The Child Enrichment Center, CEC, preschool meets three times a week in the mornings. Our teachers are qualified, dedicated people that love the Lord and love children. The kids are well-prepared for kindergarten when they graduate.

If we can be of help to you in any way, please feel free to contact us!

Children's Sunday School Classes

There is a Gathering in the basement of the MAC at 9:30 am for children and adults to have coffee/juice/pastries and get to know one another. By 9:45 am, parents need to take their children to the Children's wing (downstairs in the older wing) for their classes. Adult classes are also available.

Wednesday Nite Live!

**NOTE: FUNdamentals and Childrens Time is on hiatus for the summer. We have VBS July 25-29 and then we start back up in August with Wednesday nights. The Recreation Ministry has many camps and activities for the children this summer so be sure to check the newsletter for that information.

FUNdamentals 3:30-5:00 pm
Dinner and a Movie 5:00-6:00 pm
Children's Time 6:00-7:00 pm (music, missions, FUN)

FUNdamentals is a time of fun and burning off steam after a long day at school. The cost is only $1 and children will have time to do homework in a supervised atmosphere, play games in the gym and learn about God's plan for their lives.

Church Family Dinners begin at 5 pm each Wednesday and are a wonderful way for adults and children to get to know each other. The children are invited to "Dinner and Movie" - get your meal 'to go' and then head down to the Fellowship Hall to eat and watch a movie while your parents enjoy getting to know other adults in the MAC. It is also a huge time-saver for busy families. Sign up through the church office by Tuesday each week.
