Rev. Ben B. Lewis is the Senior Pastor here at FUMC of Union County. He, his wife Gwen, and his mother Evelyn have been at First United Methodist Church since June of 2006.
Ben is a graduate of Shorter College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. He earned his Masters of Divinity degree from Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. He is currently in his 30th year of ministry. Ben has spent his entire ministry in the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist church.
Ben and Gwen have been married for 30 years. They have two sons, Dusty and Matt. Dusty and his new bride Natalie, live in Cartersville, GA, where they manage a health gym in Adairsville, GA. Matt will graduated from the University of Georgia in May of 2007. His wife Katie is a flight attendant with Air Tran Airways.
Ben's philosophy of ministry is To Know Christ - To Make Christ Known. His core values of ministry are worship, fellowship, discipleship, and outreach.
Ben's hobbies are golfing, reading, and fishing.
