  • Ben Lewis | Senior Minister

  • Rev. Ben B. Lewis is the Senior Pastor here at FUMC of Union County. He, his wife Gwen have been here since June of 2006. Ben is a graduate of Shorter College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. He earned his Masters of Divinity degree from Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Ben's philosophy of ministry is To Know Christ - To Make Christ Known. His core values of ministry are worship, fellowship, discipleship, and outreach.



  • Jeff Bauman | Music Minister
    Jeff
  • Jeff has served as Music Director at FUMC since 1996. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Performance and Music Education from Spring Arbor College and Masters of Music degrees in Choral Conducting and Vocal Performance from Bowling Green State University. Jeff is also the Director of Choral/Vocal Music at Young Harris College.



  • Keith DeFoor | Instrumentalist
    Keith DeFoor
  • Keith earned his Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from Shorter College and his Master of Music degree in piano performance and the Doctor of Philosophy degree in Music Theory from The Florida State University. Keith also serves as the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs at Young Harris College.






  • Ken Soltys | Worship Leader - Contemporary Service
    Stan
  • Ken has been leading the music and worship at the contemporary service at the Mac since it first began in January 2010. With KSM, he has traveled the world sounding his trumpet, singing the new song, teaching, worshipping and empowering believers in the body of Christ to release the unique sounds of heaven in the earth. He also runs Multimedia Group International in Hayesville, NC.

  • Stan Wallace | Minister of Recreation and Older Adults, OASIS Director
    Stan
  • Stan has been serving as the Director of Recreation and Sr. Adults at FUMC since October 2008 and the OASIS program director since 2011. He has a Bachelors degree in Counseling from Troy University and a Master of Religious Education degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Growing up in Mississippi and Alabama he calls Dothan, Alabama home. He has served churches in Louisiana, Florida, Alabama, and Georgia. In his spare time he enjoys spending time his lovely wife Patricia, traveling, playing golf, and boating.

  • Tricia Wallace | Children's Minister
    Tricia

    Tricia has over 15 years of experience in the area of Children’s Ministry having served churches in Alabama and Georgia as Preschool Director and Director of Children’s Ministries. She has a passion to see children come to a knowledge of Jesus Christ and to help them understand what it means to build a solid spiritual foundation early in their lives. She has also served on mission teams traveling to Tapachula, Mexico and Iquitos, Peru. She is a graduate of Georgia Southwestern State University where she earned a degree in Early Childhood Education. In addition to serving FUMC, Tricia also works in the Union County School System. She is married to Stan, who serves as Director of Recreation and Sr. Adults. In her spare time Tricia enjoys reading, sewing, spending time with her three grandchildren, cheering for her beloved “Alabama Crimson Tide”, shopping, and a good cup of Starbucks coffee.


  • Zach Thompson | Youth Minister
    Zach

    My name is Zach Thompson. I am 22 years old and am a Senior Outdoor Leadership major at Young Harris College. I am from Cartersville, GA where I was privileged to be born and raised in church. Growing up, my family and I were very active in church. I was an active member within my youth group at church, the co-captain of my FCA in high school, and apart of various other religious group as well. Here at Young Harris, I have been even more apart of Religious Life. I am apart of the Christian fraternity, Alpha Omega, in which I served as the Vice President and Educator for our perspective new members, and have been apart of the college's Inter-Religious Council which we planned many events throughout the year. I have also been a speaker multiple times at our student-led bible study, and a speaker and small group leader at our annual Spiritual Life Retreat for the past two years. I plan on using my Outdoor Leadership degree in conjunction with ministry to really delve into the spiritual connection that the out of doors offer. I am very happy and privileged to be here with the youth and look forward to many prosperous years at FUMC.

  • Evelyn Ueltzen | Admistrative Assistant

  • After serving ten years as a CEC preschool teacher, Evelyn joined our staff in June 2007. She has a Bachelors Degree in English from West Georgia College. She and her family moved to Blairsville in 1995, and she has three children and 2 grandchildren - one granddaughter and one grandson.




  • Fred Whitley | Minister at Lake Winfield Scott
    Rev. Whitley
  • Rev. Whitley has pastored several churches in northeast Georgia and is retired from the Religion Department at Young Harris College after 30 years. He enjoys working with Habitat for Humanity and other missions projects. He holds a B. A., Emory University, Th. M., Boston University School of Theology, and a M. A. in Biblical Studies, Boston University

  • Jackie Franklin | Parish Nurses
    Jackie
  • Jackie Franklin and her husband, Lamar, have been church members for over twelve years. Jackie has a Bachelors degree in Nursing from Medical College of Georgia and a Masters in Nursing from Emory University, specializing in Family Community Nursing. She attended a Parish Nurse certification course at Furman University in 2003.






Directions to our Church

We are located on Highway 515 in Blairsville GA just south of the stoplight. We are next to North Georgia Technical College and across the road from Meeks Park.
